Global Symbols
Global Symbols is a free library where AAC symbol sets are published and shared, including sets made for many languages and cultures.
You can use Global Symbols in PiCom in two ways:
- From the button editor: type the button label, then select the Global Symbols icon. Matching symbols appear inside PiCom.
- From the website: search and download symbols from Global Symbols, then add them to a button with the button editor.

OpenSymbols gathers openly licensed picture symbols from many sources into one searchable library of over 50,000 symbols and icons. Download what you need and add it to any button with PiCom's button editor.
Check the licence shown for each symbol set before using symbols outside personal or classroom boards.
Using your own pictures
Any image or photo on your device can go on a PiCom button. Photos of familiar people, places and objects are often easier to recognise than symbols. See the button editor guide.
